Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)

Responsibilities:
The essential function of the ARNP is to work with the Medical Services team to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a multi specialty group practice community health center setting and prescribe, under protocol, with agency psychiatrists. The ARNP’s are expected to provide a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult mental illness including SPMI. The ARNP develops and documents a comprehensive plan of care that describes the assessment/diagnostic strategies, reflects current health care knowledge and includes delegation of responsibilities to others. The ARNP will meet productivity standards as determined by the Medical Director and will be required to complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Job requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree in nursing with an emphasis in Psychiatric Mental Health. Prior nursing experience with SPMI population in a clinical setting coordinating psychopharmacological treatment highly preferred. Expertise in the areas of psychopharmacology, psychopathology, DSM – IV diagnostic criteria; theory based practice, group dynamics and written and verbal communication. Must meet the criteria for registration in the State of Kansas for ARNP and have a KS Registered Nurse license and be eligible for all third party reimbursements. ANCC certification in Adult psych/mental health required, or at least the educational plan to obtain ANCC certification within six months of employment. This position also requires necessary computer skills for electronic records. Must be able to pass pre-employment background checks and SRS Adult/Child Abuse Registries.
