We seek a Registered Nurse with five (5) or more years of clinical nursing experience and nursing education/staff development experience for the role of Director, Education. In this role you will organize, plan, develop, implement and maintain the educational programs, clinical projects, and staff development activities for the hospital, as well as educational oversight for all standards/regulations in regards to TJC, CMS and DHEC. You will assume fiscal responsibility for the Education Department and HR functions such as hiring, counseling, evaluations and scheduling. You will serve as a resource person and liaison for hospital associates and the community.
Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Nursing and be licensed as an RN in the state of South Carolina (or have the ability to gain this licensure). Preference given to candidates with a MSN. Must have a knowledge of general nursing theories and practice. Must have current BLS/AACLS certification. Current BLS Instructor training preferred; ACLS/PALS training preferred. Nursing education and/or staff development experience required. Preference given to candidates with five (5) or more years of clinical nursing experience. Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s) encouraged. Must have management and teaching ability, and to effectively motivate and supervise others. Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards related to CMS, TJC, DHEC and other accrediting bodies.
