Description & Requirement

Job Summary:
Accountable on a daily basis for the oversight of the room staff's performance, coordination of the room's schedule, and communicating with the Cath Lab management team to insure efficient utilization of the department's resources. Personnel functioning in must also serve as a working team member/leader in the performance of procedures and therefore are required to have excellent technical skills.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing (BSN)
 
Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) as recognized by the Texas State Board of Nursing

Minimum years in previous to employment:
Three (3) year related Cath Lab experience. Experience in facilitation that demonstrates flexibility and creativity in managing group dynamics

Minimum Knowledge and Skills and Abilities:
Able to maintain current ACLS and BCLS certifications
Excellent understanding of dosage calculations, drug actions, implications, precautions, and complications for all medications administered
Strong skills in starting IV's and administering medications
Good patient assessment skills
Able to interpret cardiac rhythms Accurately and promptly
Proficient at defibrillation/cardio version techniques
Strong management skills such as: strong interaction and time management skills, independent problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and fiscal management skills
Excellent patient assessment skills
Able to utilize the nursing process to provide high level of patient care
Able to recognize basic equipment malfunction and troubleshoot equipment in room
Exceptional technical and clinical skills
Exceptional knowledge of inventory/supplies utilized in the department
Exceptional scrub skills and knowledge when scrubbing for diagnostic and interventional procedures
Exceptional knowledge of cardiovascular diseases
Able to Accurately interpret data gathered during procedures
Able to positively communicate with patients, guests, physicians, and hospital staff members to provide high level of patient care while maximizing productive efficiency
